DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - DeKalb County Police said the killer who shot a woman in the head is still on the run.
Candles and flowers now line the place at the Forest Cove apartments where investigators found the woman lifeless Friday.
The DeKalb County Medical Examiner said the African American woman is in her 20s, and police are working to notify her family of her death.
The ordeal has residents on edge and outraged, as the person responsible is still on the loose.
"Someone had the audacity to take another person's life with no care. How am I safe?" said resident Michelle Scruggs, who laid flowers where the woman was found deceased.
Detectives say they responded to reports of gunshots early Friday morning at the complex on Meadowglen Village Lane.
Neighbors told police they heard one gunshot and then heard a car speed away quickly.
Sunday night, a police report obtained by FOX 5 shows an anonymous 911 caller witnessed the shooting and described the getaway car as an older gold Toyota Camry.
Residents said they are anxious for the killer to be caught.
A letter from management informed residents that security was on site during the shooting, and the staff is working with police on the investigation.
