Police: Woman punched, robbed while riding bike in East Atlanta

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police are looking for a pair of crooks who pushed a woman off her bike before punching and robbing her.

Home surveillance cameras captured the screams of a woman fighting for her life Thursday night.

Atlanta police say the attack happened at Walthall and Hardee streets in East Atlanta around 10:30.

Investigators told FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell neighbors ran out to help the woman who was riding her bike when two men, wearing dark skull caps and black jackets, ambushed her.

The men shoved the woman off her bike, punched her and ripped off her backpack.

"Those people were pretty brazen to do that right down the street from us," one neighbor said.

A neighbor farther down the street told police they saw the pair jump into a gray Dodge Charger.

Investigators say the thieves got away with the woman's laptop, cell phone, Georgia State ID, textbooks, and more.
