Police: Shooting victim found near northeast Atlanta train tracks

Atlanta police are investigating a body that was found near train tracks in northeast Atlanta Monday morning.

Police say the victim, an unidentified black male, was found on the 1300 block of Plasters Avenue near the Interstate 85 underpass around 7:30 a.m.

Officials say that the victim had a gunshot wound to his head and that they do not believe it was a suicide at this time. The victim did not have ID on him.

Currently, police say that they are not sure if the victim was shot on Plasters Avenue or was moved there after the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
