FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities in Forsyth County are on the hunt for the person who set fire to a neighborhood clubhouse, a pavilion, and a resident's car all in one week.
The ordeal centers around two subdivisions off Old Alpharetta Road and residents have grown increasingly alarmed as the latest fire was set dangerously close to a family's home.
Investigators said the first incident was July 5, as someone set fire to the Springmonte subdivision clubhouse. The entire interior of the clubhouse was destroyed and will cost around $200,000 to replace, according to neighborhood leaders.
July 8, Forsyth County firefighters responded to a second fire at the subdivision's pavilion behind the clubhouse. The pavilion area remains closed for repairs.
Then on the evening of July 11 before midnight, firefighters put out a car fire in the Saddlebrook Glen subdivision that raged dangerously close to a family's home. Arson investigators told FOX 5, authorities detained a person in a traffic stop shortly after the incident and arrested them on unrelated charges; the person, investigators said, is being questioned about the fires.
