Police search for suspect in double shooting at Austell home

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities are searching for a gunman after double shooting inside a Cobb County home.

The shooting happened overnight Thursday in the 7100 block of Weatherford Drive. Neighbors told FOX 5 police first arrived in the quiet Austell neighborhood around 1 a.m.

 

 

Responding officers found two victims, a male and female, inside the home. According to police, the man was shot in the shoulder and the woman was shot in the head.

Both victims were taken to local hospitals. The woman is in critical condition. 

Following the shooting, yellow tape surrounded the front yard as detectives worked inside the house, collecting evidence. 

Police are now searching for the shooter.
