DeKalb County Police Major Antonio Catlin said investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a drug transaction between two groups. Catlin said when officers arrived on scene, they  found the body of a man in front of the Lancashire Court apartments located on Thornwoode Lane, which is down the road from the initial scene.

Police also said they caught up with several people at a third scene nearby.

"The case is still fluid and we really don't know exactly who all was involved, but we think that we may have all of the individuals," said Caitlin

Investigators said they detained at least four others, all of whom were taken to either Grady Memorial Hospital or Atlanta Medical Center with varying shooting-related injuries. Their names and conditions were not immediately available, but Major Catlin said some were serious to critical.

Catlin said the circumstances surrounding the incident were still under investigation.
