Police: No charges in deadly shooting at Gwinnett County apartment complex

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Police said they have not filed charges in a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Gwinnett County.

According to police, 25-year-old Cortez Lofton shot 27-year-old Jessica Criff at The Landmark at Bella Vista apartments on Club Place off of Satellite Drive in unincorporated Duluth. Investigators said her body was found inside the 2300 building early Tuesday morning. 

The 911 call came in between 4:30 and 5 a.m. as a domestic dispute. Responding officers said they found Criff suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics took Criff to the hospital, where she later died. 

Police believe some type of argument broke out, and that's when the woman was shot. Police said Lofton is cooperating with investigators. No word yet on the relationship between the man and the woman. 

Police said they aren't looking for anyone else.
