Police: Multiple people shot inside Henry County home
HENRY COUNTY, Ga. - UPDATE: Henry County officials confirm that a fourth victim has died at Grady Hospital.
Police confirm four people were shot inside a home in Henry County early Thursday morning.
"Three of those four victims died. One was airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition. They were all found in the kitchen or living room and it appears they were awake at the time of the shooting," said Captain Joey Smith.
Officers were called to the farm on Moccasin Gap Road around 2 a.m. by someone inside the home.
Police don't know who pulled the trigger, but said they are interviewing other people who were inside the home during the shooting. They also spent the day reaching out to other people acquainted with the victims who were not in the house when the crime was committed.
"We don't know if this was some sort of celebration or event or a domestic dispute. That's what we're trying to sort out right now," said Captain Smith.
Neighbors are used to horses and lots of acreage in the section of Henry County, not crime scene tape.
“I think it’s a terrible and random thing that just happened. Like everybody else out here, I thought it was a home invasion. But obviously, there's more to it than that. It’s just devastating,” said Jackson resident Josh Milam.
The ages and genders of the victims have not been confirmed. Several distraught loved ones have been on the scene all day-but have declined to comment on camera.
