Police: man attempts to run over officers after they responded to a hit and run

DALLAS, Ga. - Police responded to an officer involved shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Park Street, Dallas, GA. Saturday night two Dallas officers responded to a hit and run incident at East Cooper and Park Street.

When they arrived at the scene the suspect, 25-year-old Cody McKenzie, complied with authorities. However, police say when they approached his car, McKenzie restarted his car and attempted to run over the officers.

Both officers fired multiple times, striking the vehicle. Eventually, McKenzie crashed. 

McKenzie was struck in his right arm by police. After being released from Kennestone Hospital he was brought into the custody of the Dallas Police Department.
