Police investigating armed robbery in Cobb County

MARIETTA, Ga. - A Cobb County school was briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday morning as law enforcement officials searched for a possible armed robber.

The search was focused around the intersection of Sandtown and Smyrna Powder Springs roads just after 8:20 a.m. The Osborne High School website stated that a “CODE YELLOW status was declared immediately to ensure the safety of our staff and students.” The lockdown lasted through the afternoon.

Cobb County police said their SWAT team was deployed to the area to search for a possible armed robber. No word on if a suspect has been taken into custody. The circumstances surrounding the armed robbery have not yet been released by police.
