SOUTH FULTON, Ga. - A man says he narrowly escaped becoming a shooting victim after a bullet struck his car late Saturday in South Fulton.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. at Campbellton Road and Sandcreek Drive right outside of the Sandalwood Estates Subdivision.
Patrick Broadus spoke with FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell Monday about the scary encounter. He also showed the bullet hole on the driver's side of his car.
"It was just senseless and reckless," Broadus insisted. "A few inches to the left or right, [the bullet] could have hit me somewhere vital."
Broadus believes people in two light-colored, possibly white, SUVs in the opposite lane were shooting into another SUV directly in front of him. He's unsure if there was an exchange of gunfire.
However, Broadus remembers hearing eight to 10 gunshots.
"I am hoping they will get people like this off the streets," Broadus said. "This is really scary, if it's a random shooting or gang-related violence, all of this needs to stop."
The City of South Fulton Police Department confirmed to Mitchell they're investigating the incident.
