Deadly hit and run near Austell
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Cobb County Police are investigating after a pedestrian was killed during a hit and run Tuesday.
According to police, a 2020 Kia Optima was going southbound on Riverside Parkway driving towards Premier Lane when a pedestrian crossing the street was hit. Investigators said the pedestrian was walking West and walked into the car's path, but the driver kept driving along Riverside Parkway after the incident.
Authorities identified the victim as 64-year-old Jasper Arnold. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was identified as 44-year-old Melissa Mabry. She was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and Felony hit and run.
