Police: DeKalb County murder suspect caught after dangerous chase in Tennessee
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A DeKalb County murder suspect is in custody in Knoxville, Tennessee after police say he shot a woman and a toddler before running over a teenager with his car.
Police say 29-year-old Victor Parson shot a man in unincorporated Decatur Sunday morning.
He then took off to Tennessee where investigators say he shot a woman and her 2-year-old just after 7 p.m. that night. Both were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in serious condition.
A short time later, police say parson led them on a chase. During his getaway, he hit a 13-year-old boy on a scooter. The boy is expected to recover.
Parsons eventually ditched the car and ran from police. Despite officers setting up a perimeter and K-9 officers being brought in to track him, Parson eluded police.
Parson was arrested Monday in an East Knoxville neighborhood after receiving a tip.
