The 8-year-old boy who was critically injured Monday after a high-speed crash in Fulton County has died.

The crash happened at Fulton Industrial Boulevard and Boat Rock Road. Police said the boy was in the car with two other children and an adult at the time of the crash.

East Point police said Ana Christina Bolton, 21, of Atlanta, was behind the wheel of the black Dodge Challenger that struck the family’s car as well as a white pick-up truck. Police said the car was carjacked early that morning in Atlanta.

Police spotted the car near Camp Creek Parkway and Marketplace Boulevard just before 3 p.m. Monday and tried to pull Bolton over, but ended up chasing her for more than eight miles before the crash.

Investigators said the boy was taken to an area hospital and was placed on life support. The others in the car and pickup truck are expected to be OK.

Bolton was scheduled to make her first appearance in court Thursday morning, but she waived her appearance. Police said he will likely face additional charges.
