Police: 2 arrested for hijacking old school bus

A man and a woman are facing charges in Henry County, accused to hijacking another couple's converted school bus.

Police say the victim was asleep in the bus last Friday when Denise Hofer and William Hughes started driving the bus away.

When she woke up, officers said the victim believe she was being kidnapped and tried to fight back. She ended up jumping out of the bus through the side door.

A neighbor then heard screaming and came outside with a gun.

Officers said Hofer and Williams got out of the bus and ran into the woods, but police tracked the two down a short time later.

They've been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and theft by taking.
