FOX 5 News was the only camera there at the Cobb County Jail on Thursday night as Dr. Nedra Dodds surrendered on felony murder, aggravated battery, and theft by deception charges. Dodds did not offer any comment to the indictment as she walked into the jail.
This is a case that FOX 5 News has been following for more than two years. A Cobb County grand jury indicted Dodds and fellow doctor, Kevin McCowan on the charges Thursday morning.
Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds said his office can prove how both doctors, working together, caused the deaths of April Jenkins in February 2013 after a liposuction procedure and Erica Beaubrum, who died three months later.
Dodds and McCowan performed plastic surgery procedures together at Opulence Aesthetic Medicine.

"I would like people to know that the situation involving Ms. Jenkins expiring is a common risk and complication," Dodds told FOX 5 News back in 2013 following the death of Jenkins.
The family of Jenkins filed a civil suit against her. Dodds defended her practice as safe with trained staff, but the indictment states Jenkins suffered a "laceration of the liver" during her surgery.
Dodds and McCowan are also accused of "theft by deception". The indictment said the two "conveyed that Nedra Dodds possessed medical qualifications she did not possess."
