Pickens County teen accused of trying to hire hit man to kill two people

A high school student is accused of trying to hire someone to murder two Pickens County residents.

Morgan Miles Morris, 17, has been charged as an adult with criminal solicitation to commit murder.

The Pickens County Sheriff's Office received a tip that Morris had been attempting to hire a "hit man," so investigators arranged for an undercover detective to meet with Morris. That's when, according to the sheriff's office, Morris offered to pay the undercover officer to kill two people.

Investigators said during the meeting with the undercover officer, Morris provided details on how to carry out the murders.

Deputies executed a search warrant at Morris' home where they found additional evidence in connection with the case.

Morris was arrested without incident. He's being held without bond at the Pickens County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said the potential victims have been made aware of Morris' plot to kill them.
