Atlanta police investigate shooting at student housing complex
Police found a 24-year-old man dead inside the Westmar Student Lofts located on West Marietta Street.
ATLANTA - Atlanta police said a man died from an apparent gunshot wound on Sunday morning at an apartment complex off of West Marietta Street.
Police found a wounded 24-year-old man, who later died from their injuries, outside an apartment at Westmar Student Lofts. Atlanta Police Department officers went to the scene at 5 a.m. on Sunday to 800 West Marietta Street.
Homicide Investigator Ralph Woolfolk said multiple people lived in the apartment where there was a "substantial" amount of narcotics inside.
"This appears to be a target, isolated incident," Woolfolk said.

Man shot dead inside drug-filled apartment, police say
Police found a man shot inside an apartment complex with "substantial" amount of narcotics. Police said there is a person of interest in the investigation.
Police haven't named the victim, but said they have a person of interest in addition to cooperative witnesses and ballistic evidence.
"We do know there was a substantial amount of narcotics inside the apartment, which the victim was visiting," Woolfolk said. "We do have a person of interest who was leaving that apartment that we're assessing at this time."
