Pedestrian Struck by MARTA Bus Taken to the Hospital
ATLANTA - A woman was taken to the hospital Friday morning after getting hit by a MARTA bus.
According to an official with MARTA, the bus was turning left at the intersection of Alabama and Forsyth Streets when it struck and injured a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The accident happened near the Five Points rail station.
The woman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A passenger on the bus was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to MARTA, the bus driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian and was sent for a mandatory drug and alcohol test. The Atlanta Police Department responded to the scene.
