Investigators in Dawson County said fireworks that weren't put out properly are what sparked a fire that destroyed three homes on the same street early Thursday morning.

The first 911 call went out just after midnight Thursday. Crews arrived at the scene on Burts Crossing Drive and found three homes engulfed in flames.

The fire was so intense that three other homes were damaged by the heat.

Dawson County Fire Chief Danny Thompson told FOX 5, that someone said they sprayed off fireworks with a garden hose after shooting them off earlier. They then threw the fireworks away.

No one was injured in the fires.
