Officials search for missing swimmer on Chattahoochee

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities said a swimmer went missing Friday afternoon along the Chattahoochee River.

Cobb County police said the man was last seen around 2 p.m. around Sandy Point off Akers Mill Road. SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene and found several boats in the water searching for the man.

The Cobb County fire department and National Parks Service assisted in the search.

Rescue crews broke for the day at sundown. Officials said they will be back on the water searching first thing Saturday morning.
