A chase through downtown Atlanta ended with the arrest of two suspected car thieves early Friday morning.  Police said they were in an officer's personal vehicle that was stolen more than a week ago.

The chase started on the Downtown Connector. The stolen 2016 Ford Explorer was spotted on the highway.

Georgia State Patrol and Atlanta Police started pursuing the SUV.

The chase ended a short time later on 166 West near Sylvan Road. Officers stopped the SUV using a PIT maneuver.

Investigators told FOX 5 two men, 21-years-old and 16-years-old, bailed from the vehicle, but didn't make it far.

Police said a third suspect is still at large.

Inside the vehicle, when it was stolen from the officer's Claire Road residence, was a patrol bag containing a department-issued vest, taser and radio. The gear has not been recovered.
