A 7-year-old boy who has been battling cancer for more than a year went back to school Monday with an escort.

Officers with the Burleson police and fire departments, as well as several Johnson County sheriff’s deputies and state troopers, lead Brisen Fullbright back to Frazier Elementary School.

Students cheered as he was escorted inside.

Brisen was diagnosed with cancer just before his 6th birthday. He went into remission but his cancer came back and he had to have one of his hands amputated.

His family said through it all, he’s been a fighter.
