Newnan Police Department Investigates Fatal Shooting

The Newnan Police Department units responded to a call of a person being shot on Friday.

Upon arrival, units discovered a 33-year-old male, lying in the kitchen of the home, with multiple gunshot wounds. It was determined that the victim lived at the address. The victim was unresponsive when officers arrived and was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The initial investigation by the Newnan Police Department found that there were other family members at home during the time of the shooting. The family members were in another part of the house, and were not in the same room at the time of the shooting. The family is working with police to identify the person responsible for the shooting. According to police. this crime does not appear to be a home invasion, nor does it appear to be a random crime.
