Neighbors Help Residents Hit by Christmas Grinches

MORROW - A Morrow family is hoping help from their neighbors will lead police to who ever stole some irreplaceable family treasures during the holidays.

Jermaine Williams told Fox 5 News they stole the Christmas tree, presents under it, some expensive tennis shoes, leather belts, I-Pad and a computer a few days before Christmas.

He said the crooks left the ornaments from the tree strewn about the back yard lawn.

The toughest part he said was explaining to his three year old son Jermaine Jr. why Christmas Grinches would steal the tree, everything under it and so much more included food from the refrigerator.

He also said they stole some family treasures including a watch, baby bracelet and a special ring which were handed down from his grandfather.

Williams said he wanted to pass down the items to his son as well.

A neighbor of the Williams who contacted Fox 5 News said residents of the Marquis at Mt. Zion apartment complex collected two thousand dollars for a reward to help police capture the culprits.

Jermaine Williams said his car has been broken into several times at the complex. Police he said are trying to determine if the incidents are connected.

Williams who lives at the complex with his son, fiance and sister said they plan to move to a safer lcoation.
