Got a bottle full of old prescription drugs? How to get rid of it this Saturday

The DEA is sponsoring a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. (FOX 5)

Georgia law enforcement officials want all residents to take advantage of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Multiple agencies across metro Atlanta and north Georgia will be participating.

The program offers a way to dispose of prescription drugs safely and educates the public about the potential for medication abuse. It is also part of the DEA’s ongoing battle with opioid abuse.

Most locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.
