Metro residents pays tribute to Paris victims, France

From moments of silence, to French flags waving in solidarity, people in Atlanta pay their respects and pledge their support to the people of France.

The nighttime skyline of Buckhead showed the Intercontinental Hotel with lights in blue, white and red for the French flag colors.

Saturday night, a social media post encouraged people around the Metro to participate in a vigil at the French Consulate. People brought flowers, candles, posters and letters to the people of France. 

"They were killed for some senseless act. It hurt so much," said one American who had lived in France. "France didn't deserve what happened."

The outside of the restaurant Cafe Alsace in Decatur was decorated with French flags and red, white and blue decor.

"I put my Marseilles decorations and all my blue, white and red decorations I had," said owner Benedicte Cooper.

She also showed a bouquet of blue, white and red flowers left outside her restaurant by an anonymous person.

"It really touched me," she said.

Workers and guests at Buckhead restaurant Le Bilbouquet proudly wore ribbons with the French flag.

"It's touching," said one French national. "They take me into their arms. They support me."
