Another mega load will be working its way through Georgia’s highways on Monday night.

A 385,000 pound machine press will start its journey Monday night at 8 p.m. in Columbia County.

Owned by Guy M. Turner, the 200-foot long, 18-foot wide and 14-foot tall configuration will cause traffic to slow and stop due to the excessive size of the load.

The biggest traffic impact will be along Interstate 20 westbound and travel through DeKalb, Fulton, and Cobb counties

In addition, due to the size and weight of the machine press, the mega load’s planned route will avoid all bridges, utilities and traffic signals. The final destination is Voestalpine Drive in Bartow County.

According to the Georgia DOT, motorists should exercise extreme caution in its vicinity and follow instructions from the law enforcement escorts.

There will also be another Mega Load coming through town Wednesday night as well. Stay tuned to FOX 5 News for details.
