MARTA suspends service at several stations due to shooting on board train
ATLANTA - On Sunday evening, MARTA suspended rail service between Avondale, Kensington, and Indian Creek following a shooting on board a moving train.
MARTA spokesperson Goldie Taylor tells FOX 5, the shooting happened on a train traveling eastbound toward Kensington station. The male shooter got off the train at the Kensington station stop and is on the run.
A male victim was struck in the leg. He is conscious and at Grady Memorial Hospital, according to MARTA officials.
Around 7:19 on Sunday, MARTA announced that normal rail service had resumed between Avondale, Kensington & Indian Creek stations on both the Eastbound and Westbound lines.
A gun from the suspect was retrieved.
