Marietta schools to add police officers

MARIETTA, Ga. - The Marietta City School System is adding two new police officer positions within their schools thanks to a new grant.

The grant is specifically focused on preventing gang activity.

Marietta schools say while there is not a current gang problem, it's a move to keep the schools safe.

The new position will be a hybrid one with the officers serving as a school resource officer and a gang task force officer.
