Marietta apartment fire displaces 6 families
MARIETTA, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - At least six families have no place to live after flames tore through an apartment building in Marietta.
Officials say the fire broke out just before 7 Friday night at the Knolls Apartment complex on the 1600 block of Roswell Road.
It was so fierce that Cobb County firefighters joined Marietta fire to battle the flames.
Fire crews say they had to kick down some of the doors to get residents to safety.
"This is going to be a time for the community to rally and help all of these families who find themselves without a place to stay," Marietta Police Department Officer Chuck McPhilamy said.
Authorities told FOX 5 everyone, including pets, got out safely and nobody was seriously injured.
Crews are now working to investigate the cause of the dangerous fire.
