Manager of Gas Station Near Kennesaw State Shot

Cobb County Police are actively searching for the gunman who shot a gas station manager near Kennesaw State University.

It happened just after 1:30 p.m. at the Citgo located in the 3900 block of George Busbee Parkway near Frey Road.

Police said the manager was heading to the bank to deposit money when an armed robber approached and attempted to snatch the money away. The manager held on and was shot several times in the leg.

The manager was rushed to the hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

The gunman fled the scene.

Those who know the gas station manager are upset by the violence.

"This is the nicest old man. He is kind, you can ask anybody. I can't believe this happen in broad daylight in Kennesaw," said car wash owner Francis Korir.

On their website, KSU stated that the incident posed no threat to those on campus.
