The man wanted in connection with the brutal murder of a mother of three was captured Friday.

Police were looking for 39-year-old Perth Earl after investigators said 37-year-old Angela Burnett was found strangled inside her Gwinnett County home. Officers went to the home after someone outside the county called 911 to report an ongoing domestic violence situation at the home. Officials said Burnett was murdered while her children were in another room.

Earl is the father of her youngest children. Police said they'd been called to Angela's home on a number of occasions for domestic violence calls or calls of where Perth was there when he shouldn't be. Over the past ten years, police said he's been in and out of the Gwinnett County Jail on at least eight occasions, mostly for criminal trespass and battery charges.

Jamir Welcher had just seen Angela the day before and is not surprised by the news.

“I had no idea it's just a sad situation it's even Angela. I would never know she's the sweetest lady ever. I would never think of it,” Welcher said.

Close friend Nick Battle agrees. He didn't see it either.

“It was one of those things where Angela was so sweet so beautiful and kind that we assumed her spouse or her mate would be just as kind for her. But that just goes to show you never really know,” said Battle.

Now, they have to say goodbye to a woman taken from this world too soon.

"You will be missed, but most importantly you left a very, very big impact on everyone here," said Battle.

Officials said Earl was taken into custody in northern Ohio. No word on when he will be brought back to Georgia.
