Man shot at gas station, police looking for gunmen

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Atlanta Police are looking for the gunman responsible for shooting a 46-year-old in the abdomen in southwest Atlanta Thursday morning.

Officers got reports of a shooting after midnight outside of a food mart in the 1200 block of Metropolitan Parkway.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a man shot in the abdomen and rushed him to the hospital. Officers said he is in critical condition and had to undergo surgery, but he is stable.

Police said the shooting occurred when the man was walking back to some apartments after leaving the store. A green SUV pulled up, an altercation ensued between the man and the person in the SUV, and that person opened fire.

Two shots were fired, one hitting the man. 

Atlanta police said the SUV was last seen heading south down Metropolitan Parkway. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
