Medics rush an elderly driver to the hospital after his car collides with a train in Kennesaw.

Officials say the driver who's in his 80s realized he was too close to the train tracks in downtown Kennesaw Wednesday afternoon.

He intended to back up, but his car was in drive, so he went forward and collided with the train.

The man was taken to the hospital.

Police say he's expected to be okay.

Cherokee Street between Big Shanty Road and Main Street was shut down as crews worked to clear the scene.
