Man killed in house fire in Habersham County

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. - One man has been killed and two people have been injured in a house fire Tuesday in Habersham County.

The fire happened at around 12:18 at a home on the 2200 block of Cody Road near Mount Airy.

Officials say that the fire happened in the living room of the home near the front of the house, possibly on a sofa.

The deceased victim, 30-year-old Roy Dale Savage, was visiting the house at the time.

The other two victims, 17-year-old Gary Stratton Jr. and 41-year-old Ginger Bleckley, were transported to hospitals with injuries. Bleckley is currently in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated. Officials said there is a possibility that smoking material or candles could have been the cause.
