Man found shot to death inside car in Gwinnett County neighborhood
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Police are investigating after a man was found dead and another injured in a normally quiet Gwinnett County subdivision early Tuesday morning.
Officers said they responded to a "discharging firearms" call near Express Lane around 3 a.m. Residents awoke to rapid gunfire Tuesday.
"I was laying in bed and heard about half a dozen noises and as I awoke I could distinguish that they were gunshots," Resident Dave Rasmussen told FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor.
Responding police found Alexander Scott, 16, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he's undergoing surgery.
As officers processed the crime scene, a second victim, Blake Schulte, 20, was found shot to death in a car near Friendship Road and Duncan Ives Drive. His body was found around 7 a.m.
The grandmother of the deceased man was too distraught to talk about the sudden death, but did say she wanted the killer caught.
Authorities are investigating the death as a homicide.
Another neighbor told FOX 5 she saw a second car speed out of the cul-de-sac after the deadly shooting.
