Man arrested for pipe bomb threat, domestic violence
GORDON COUNTY, Ga. - Gordon County police have arrested a man they say assaulted and threatened a woman with a weapon.
Officials say 39-year-old Edward Williams hit the woman and threatened her with what she described as a pipe bomb.
When officials arrived on the scene, they discovered a device appearing to be the bomb.
Authorities say they also found a type gunpowder known as "pyrodex" in a vehicle at his house.
A bomb disposal squad removed the decide to ensure it was rendered safe.
Williams is currently charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats. More charges are pending.
