Macon's cherry blossoms reach peak bloom
MACON, Ga. - Did you know that the "Cherry Blossom Capital of the World" is located in Georgia?
Most people think Washington D.C. when they hear "cherry blossoms," but there are more than 300,000 Yoshino Cherry Blossom trees in Macon! They are located all throughout the city.
The trees have reached peak bloom and the streets of Macon look absolutely magical! The city is currently hosting its 34th annual International Cherry Blossom Festival, which runs through April 3. The festival lasts tens days, which is the time of the average peak bloom period.
