Police in Atlanta are investigating a stabbing incident involving a loss prevention officer at a supermarket in the Lindbergh neighborhood.
ATLANTA - Police in Atlanta are investigating a stabbing incident involving a loss prevention officer at a supermarket in the Lindbergh neighborhood.
The Kroger located on Morosgo Way NE was swarmed by police officers early Thursday evening.
What we know:
According to the Atlanta Police Department, one person was taken into custody following the stabbing and shoplifting call at the store that came in at around 5:30 p.m. The 33-year-old loss prevention officer was alert and responding to medics. He was later taken to the hospital for treatment.
The store was closed during the investigation, but reopened shortly after 7 p.m.
Authorities believe that the officer was stabbed while trying to detain 36-year-old Seanathon Wallace after the man was reportedly caught shoplifting.

"After this, I don’t know if I will come here anymore…they should have more police around here," Mario Melo said, who stops by here on his way home from work. He said the area at times doesn't feel safe.
