Large donations pour in for Boy Scout troop that was robbed

CUMMING, Ga. - The Forsyth County community continues to rally around a Boy Scout troop after thieves made off with their trailer full of equipment. 

Saturday, Troop 1109 got two big surprises on Saturday. Gander Mountain in Snellville gave the troop a substantial equipment donation. Academy Sports in Cumming also donated a $5,000 gift card.

The troop received well over the $10,000, which is the amount they estimated was stolen items were worth, through an online donation account. Among the items were service project tools, camping equipment and patrol flags.

The troop is has about 30 boys in the program.
