Kelly Clarkson will return to Vegas residency after Brandon Blackstock's death

Kelly Clarkson is heading back to the stage after taking a several-month hiatus when Brandon Blackstock, her ex-husband and the father of her children, died. 

She announced new shows and her return on Instagram this week.

Timeline:

On Aug. 6, she announced she was postponing her August dates for her Studio Sessions residency. 

"While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them," she said in the announcement. 

One day later, on Aug. 7, the family announced Blackstock had died

On Nov. 3, she announced she was resuming her residency and adding new shows. 

"Come see me," she wrote on Instagram. 

The new dates of Clarkson's Studio Sessions residency will be next year in August – 7, 8, 14 and 15. She also has previously announced shows scheduled for this month, July and August.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, Nov. 7, with some presales happening this week. 

Also this Friday, she’ll take the stage at Studio Sessions for the first time since she postponed her residency. 

Brandon Blackstone death

Brandon Blackstock, the ex-husband and former manager to the pop star, died after a three-year battle with cancer on Aug. 7, 2025. He was 48 years old. 

Blackstock had two children with Clarkson and two other children from a previous marriage.

The backstory:

Blackstock began his career with Starstruck Entertainment, his father's company, and he managed musicians including Blake Shelton and Rascal Flatts, according to TMZ.

Clarkson and Blackstock met at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006, when Blackstock was still married to ex-wife.

According to Fox News, Clarkson and Blackstock became a couple in 2012 and were married in 2013. Blackstock was Clarkson's manager from 2017 until their split in 2020.

They had two children together, River and Remington, in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
