How car recalls get reported

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) officially start car recalls after receiving complaints from consumers.

Savannah Bee Company is recalling its Honey BBQ Sauce-Mustard due to undeclared wheat and soy, posing risks to people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat or soy.

The recall notice was published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Feb. 27.

Honey BBQ sauce-mustard recalled

Savannah Bee Company said people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat or soy could run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

According to the company, the products are packaged in clear glass bottles with an orange Honey BBQ Sauce Mustard Label with the "lot number" and "best before date" etched on the neck of the bottle.

The recalled sauce has a batch code B1L1360525 with a best before date of 05/16/27 and a UPC number UPC 8 50033 93758 9.

The product was shipped nationwide to distribution centers, retail stores and to consumers between 7/30/2025-2/26/2026. 

Recalled sauce must be ‘disposed of immediately’

What you can do:

The recall said the product should be disposed of immediately. 

Consumers who have purchased these products can request a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact customer service at 800-955-5080.

The backstory:

The recall was initiated after the company was notified by a customer that the Honey BBQ Sauce - Sweet was mislabeled with a "Honey BBQ Sauce-Mustard" label.

Subsequent investigation discovered the mislabeled products failed to include the allergens wheat and soy in the ingredient statement that is contained in the Honey BBQ Sauce-Sweet.
