Home Invasion Victims Fight for Justice

It is not at all comfortable for gunshot victim Michael Lash to sit for hours on hard seats in the courthouse. But he and wife Whitney are not bothered.

They said they are more than willing to help police and the Fulton County district attorney's office in their efforts to convict teenagers charged in the home invasion of their Buckhead residence.

It was a crime you may remember. Michael was shot in both legs. His wife, who was holding their infant, had to duck gunfire and was chased out the back. She was trapped in the yard, and begged the gunman not to shoot. He decided not to and demanded her cell phone instead.

Judge Henry Newkirk heard bond requests for lawyers of two of the four defendants. He denied the requests.

The Lash's plan to return for subsequent hearings leading up to trial early next year.
