A Gwinnett County family is heartbroken after the drowning of their four-year-old boy.

Relatives found Precieux Basulama face-down in a pool at the Landmark at Bella Vista Apartments on Satellite Boulevard in unincorporated Duluth Friday.

The boy's uncle, Taty Pankwa, told FOX 5 Precieux wandered off from his apartment where he stayed with his mother and other children. Pankwa said the child was missing for about 20 minutes before he found him in the pool. Pankwa performed CPR until medics arrived. But it was too late.

"I tried to wake him up. I want to see him alive because he was a good guy. I want to play with him," Pankwa said.

The family also said there was a missing bar on one of the gates leading to the pool.  The uncle also shared with Fox 5 a picture, which he said reveals employees examining the bar after the incident.

However first responders encourage all adults with small children to secure exit doors at homes, supervise them at all times and make sure barriers to pools are in place.

FOX 5 tried to speak with complex management about the drowning but was told managers wouldn't be in until next week.
