Gunfire in Gwinnett County subdivision, 2 shot
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Gunfire erupts in the streets of a Gwinnett County subdivision Monday afternoon.
Calls to 911 started coming into Gwinnett County Police just before 2 p.m. Monday. When investigators arrived, they found shattered glass in the middle of Pendleton Place in unincorporated Suwanee. They also found bullets had hit one of the homes where a couple and their two children live.
Neighbors said they heard several gunshots. Kelly Hoffman said she saw two men running behind her home. “Another young man came running and I could tell he had been shot. He was holding his side and he had blood stains on the front and back of his t-shirt,” said Hoffman.
Police said two young men showed up at Gwinnett Medical Center at different times, with gunshots wounds. Police said both have life-threatening injuries.
Police are not actively looking for a shooter at this time. Investigators believe the two men in the hospital are the only ones who were firing weapons. Detectives said they're still trying to piece together how the two knew each other and what led up to the shooting.
