Ellijay’s The Lens Lodge:

We know a thing or two about cameras here at Good Day Atlanta — after all, without them, we wouldn’t be able to reach you every morning! But do you know what we’ve never done with a camera? Curl up inside one and go to sleep.

Until now.

This morning on Good Day Atlanta, we spent a few hours inside one of the most talked-about and Instagrammed vacation rental properties in the state: Ellijay’s The Lens Lodge. Created by Georgia native and 2021 Auburn University graduate Matthew FitzPatrick (a winner of Airbnb’s $10M OMG! Fund competition), The Lens Lodge is a truly eye-popping Airbnb, designed to look like a giant camera — with the bed located right in the lens!

That lens also happens to be aimed straight out over the North Georgia mountains, providing the kind of stunning views which have helped elevate The Lens Lodge into the top 5% of homes on Airbnb based on ratings, reviews, and reliability.

Along with that lens-based bed, The Lens Lodge features a full kitchen, a laundry room tucked away in the bathroom, a dining area, and a living room (with a pull-out couch that can accommodate two more people). There’s also a deck with a four-person hot tub and a fire pit with supplies for s’mores — in other words, plenty to keep guests warm during these cold winter months. And although there’s an Ellijay address, The Lens Lodge is really located right between Ellijay and Blue Ridge — which means there are plenty of nearby attractions worth checking out.

But, look — we could keep telling you all about this completely unique North Georgia rental — or, we could just show it to you. So, click the video player in this article to check out our morning inside The Lens Lodge, as Matthew FitzPatrick gave us an exclusive tour of this camera-ready property!
