Georgia teen shot to death while people playing with rifle

Police say two adults in Georgia are facing charges after a 15-year-old boy was shot to death while people were playing with a rifle in a Dublin apartment.

Detectives say 15-year-old Jordan Stewart and his friends, Tenia Hatch and Javouri Durham, were inside the apartment Sunday playing with a rifle when a fatal shot was fired at Stewart.

Dublin Police Chief Tim Chatman said the shooting was initially reported as a suicide.

“That didn’t happen,” Chatman said Monday, although he declined to give additional details, citing the ongoing investigation.

Durham is wanted on charges of involuntary manslaughter, with police still looking for him Monday.

Hatch was arrested Sunday night and charged with tampering with evidence, a misdemeanor. She remained jailed without bail Monday and Chatman said he knew of no lawyer representing her.
