As part of the festivities surrounding the SEC Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta last weekend, the SONIC Foundation, in partnership with the Georgia Teachers Initiative and the College Football Playoff Foundation, made a significant gesture of support for local educators by donating $100,000 in classroom resources and game tickets.

One hundred teachers from the Georgia Teachers Initiative, a statewide network of over 40,000 educators, were each awarded $1,000 in DonorsChoose gift cards to help fund classroom projects. Additionally, 20 educators were selected to attend the SEC Championship game, complete with tickets for themselves and a guest, courtesy of SONIC and the Tickets for Teachers program.

The SONIC Foundation also hosted a special activation at the Dr Pepper FanFare, featuring classic SONIC corn dogs, interactive activities, and more, as part of the weekend's festivities.

This initiative highlights the vital role teachers play in shaping Georgia’s future and provides meaningful support for their classrooms, ensuring students have the resources they need to succeed.
