Georgia Power partners with Google, Habitat for Humanity for Earth Day

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Georgia Power has partnered with Google and Habitat for Humanity on a build in Atlanta on Wednesday for Earth Day 2019.

The partnership would focus on creating a smart energy home for low to moderate income customers, officials said.

Officials said Google announced the national partnership with Habitat for Humanity in 2018. The two shared the belief that being energy efficient is important part of creating homes and communities that are sustaining.

Officials said energy-efficient technology could help with the energy burden for low to moderate income customers. Officials said Georgia Power wants to help customers save money through a variety of programs and products.

This is Atlanta’s first Habitat smart home build, officials said.
